Developer Bohemia Interactive has completed a list of features for Arma Reforger to graduate the title from its early access development on PC and Xbox. Arma Reforger has entered version 1.0, complete with an extensive list of changes for players to download, as Bohemia Interactive continues to optimize the game with its planned roadmap. Update 1.0 is available as of November 16, 2023.

Arma Reforger is the latest installment in the Arma series by Bohemia Interactive. Set in the midst of the Cold War, players on the US and Soviet Army sides engage in realistic combat. The military-strategic simulator introduces new mechanics and multiplayer components that players can experiment with across the game’s two maps, Everon and Arland. Throughout the Arma Reforger‘s early access period, Bohemia Interactive has continuously added content and fixed problems. The last update was administered on September 26, 2023, and it focused on stability and Workshop issues. As Bohemia Interactive checks items off its roadmap, it’s ready to launch Arma Reforger 1.0.

RELATED: Xbox Game Pass Game Leaves Early Access

As Bohemia Interactive wrapped up work on Arma Reforger‘s Ground Support features, additional helicopters, and supply system, the game went live with its 1.0 update. The team believes that the game is ready to leave early access development, stating that it “reached a level that we consider ready” in the update’s official publication. With early access development reaching particular milestones, update 1.0 is set to introduce a lengthy list of changes that will improve Arma Reforger in many ways. Some key features of update 1.0 include new support services, secondary damages, character reconfigurations, the ability to generate multiple save files, and more.

Update 1.0 for Arma Reforger comes complete with a massive list of changes and fixes that touch upon a variety of features in the game. Everything from balancing changes in the action to AI gameplay implementation to adjustments in multiplayer, update 1.0 is gigantic, ultimately elevating the scope of Arma Reforger.

In addition to the changes and fixes for Arma Reforger, update 1.0 will also patch up a couple of issues that concern the Workshop and the Game Master mode. The Game Master has received several additions to complement the list of fixes to go with it. Arma Reforger is home to the Game Master mode after it initially premiered in Arma 3‘s DLC Zeus. Furthermore, mods can be implemented into the tactical shooter gameplay experience thanks to the Workshop, Bohemia Interactive’s repository service that’s available for both PC and Xbox players. It should be noted that the changes to the Workshop only affect Xbox players, though.

Looking ahead, players can expect many changes to arrive in the game when referencing the Arma Reforger roadmap. Bohemia Interactive’s next steps include work on the game’s air assault mechanics, base-building features, and destructible buildings that weren’t featured in early access through Steam on PC and Game Preview on Xbox.

Known Issues

Game

  • Supply amount on bases is 0 after loading session save
  • Players are unable to change stance after getting dragged from the vehicles when they are unconscious
  • Getting into an unconscious state while leaving the vehicle can lead to player desync
  • Players sometimes cannot join already existing groups on the server after they connect
  • Persistent Sprint and Aiming Down Sights controls do not register properly when using a controller
  • Characters in the turrets sometimes start drifting away creating a surrealistic portrait of a man with really long arms holding a turret
  • The base will sometimes show the supply count in a decimal number
  • Some items in the inventory can look blurry and with low poly texture
  • UI in the vehicle or the turret can be hard to see
  • Composition holograms completely blind players when they are building structures with a shovel
  • FidelityFX Super Resolution reset after changing the Quality preset
  • Moving items in the inventory while using Arsenal will consume these items
  • Players that die with the shovel equipped will see the composition holograms even without it
  • The supply amount in build mode does not update correctly
  • AIs will continue firing in the same direction from turrets if they fall unconscious
  • AIs from the Living Quarters gather together when defending the base
  • Players are sometimes not able to repair some zones on vehicles
  • M998 is getting caught on small curbs and other small objects
  • Some fortifications are getting deleted on the server after placement
  • Building previews are rarely visible for players without shovel equipped
  • Players sometimes see only the disassemble action on recently placed composition
  • The backpack is not visible in inventory after being equipped
  • Missing clutter on Radeon cards post 23.9.1 driver
  • Taking a medical box after dragging and dropping it into the sub-inventory breaks UI
  • AI aims slowly with turrets
  • Exiting flipped vehicle can place character under the ground
  • The camera in the vehicle can shake violently when traveling
    • The player needs to exit and re-enter the vehicle for the issue to stop happening
  • Saved loadout preview doesn’t show body parts

Game Master

  • Players getting killed by GM are punished for suicide
  • Deleting all dead bodies and destroyed vehicles with the GM can lead to the kick of all GMs from the server
    • Workaround: Delete entities in smaller batches
  • Players leaving GM on a populated server have a higher chance of being kicked from the server

Warnings:

  • Progress is not indicated when processing downloaded data.
  • Server performance can be greatly reduced when replicating a high number of characters (players + AIs), and this issue becomes more prominent with increased limits, making it difficult to handle 128 players and 200+ AIs.
    • Playing Everon Conflict with 128 players is not recommended, while Arland might be more feasible due to its smaller size and fewer AI spawns. Pure PvP without AIs could be a potential alternative for larger player counts.
