Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has given fans their first look at the game’s multiplayer mode, with PlayStation gamers able to try it for themselves as early as this coming weekend. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is taking a different approach to multiplayer. Instead of being a truly brand-new experience, Modern Warfare 3 is bringing back classic maps from the 2009 Modern Warfare 2 and carrying over content from the 2022 Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be launching with 16 maps from the original MW2, which includes some of the most iconic maps in Call of Duty history. Fans can look forward to battling it out on modernized versions of Terminal, Favela, Estate, Rust, and more when Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10.

The newly-released trailer is the best look yet at Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer, showcasing some of the game’s operators, finishing moves, cosmetics, and more. That’s where the Call of Duty Next event on October 5 at 9am PT comes in, as fans can tune in to get their best look yet at everything Modern Warfare 3 has to offer, multiplayer included. And it won’t be long after the Call of Duty Next event wraps up before franchise fans get to try the multiplayer out for themselves.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Beta Dates and Times

  • October 6 to October 7 – PlayStation Pre-Orders
  • October 8 to October 10 – All PlayStation gamers
  • October 12 to October 13 – All PlayStation gamers/PC and Xbox Pre-Orders
  • October 14 to October 16 – All gamers

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 open beta will start this coming weekend, with PlayStation gamers who pre-order able to jump in first. Those that pre-order Modern Warfare 3 can try the beta from October 6 to 7 on PlayStation, with all PlayStation users gaining access from October 8 to 10. Another Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer beta will then take place from October 12 to 13 for all PlayStation users and PC and Xbox users who pre-order. And then finally, the Modern Warfare 3 beta will be open to all gamers regardless of platforms or if they pre-ordered the game from October 14 to October 16.

With the multiplayer revealed, fans almost have the full picture when it comes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The only thing left to reveal is Modern Warfare 3‘s Zombies mode, which is believed to be an open world experience. More information on that front should come to light in the weeks leading up to MW3‘s release on November 10.
