Call of Duty: Warzone has officially revealed the brand-new Urzikstan map, which will be coming to the battle royale game this December. Call of Duty: Warzone has undergone some drastic changes since it was first released in 2020. It launched with the fan favorite Verdansk map, though that was eventually traded out for the significantly less popular Caldera.
Now the original Warzone has shut down, taking Caldera with it. All the focus is on the new Call of Duty: Warzone experience, which features the Al Mazrah map as well as some smaller-scale maps that are available for players to battle it out on. A brand-new large-scale Warzone map has been rumored for quite some time, and now it’s finally been revealed to fans of the battle royale shooter.

As part of an update this December, Call of Duty: Warzone players will get to check out the new Urzikstan map, which comes complete with 11 POIs. While Urzikstan is smaller than Al Mazrah map, it’s still a large-scale map and is said to be denser than other Warzone BR maps. The new Urzikstan map in Warzone will bring a number of other enhancements to the Call of Duty battle royale experience that fans will likely appreciate it.
Call of Duty: Warzone Urzikstan Map POIs
- Hadiqa Farms
- Levin Resort
- Low Town
- Old Town
- Orlov Military Base
- Popov Power
- Seaport District
- Shahin Manor
- Urzikstan Cargo
- Zaravan City
- Zaravan Suburbs
Some of these changes include red dots on the map, like traditional Call of Duty multiplayer, as well as the ability to actually drive the train that snakes around Urzikstan. The map will have a core Gulag for when players suffer their first death, but there will also be Gulag variants to shake things up, like a night vision Gulag, for example. Players can also look forward to various quality of life improvements, like gas masks being always equipped instead of having a distracting animation and players always having a pistol handy when they’re on ladders or underwater. The game will have a higher Time to Kill, horizontal ziplines, and the movement from the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer. On paper, it sounds like this new take on Warzone is making a lot of changes based on fan feedback, and it will be interesting to see how it comes together in practice.
This new Warzone map was revealed as part of the Call of Duty Next event, which gave fans their best looks yet at Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer and the ambitious open world Zombies mode. As it turns out, the Zombies mode will actually be set on the new Warzone map. Activision is clearly investing a lot into this map, and time will tell if the gamble pays off.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
