Ironmace has rolled out two updates for Dark and Darker, which add balance adjustments, bug fixes, and new content like artifacts and mining items. It has been a while since Dark and Darker sas been delisted from Steam due to copyright issues surrounding the game. However, that hasn’t stopped Ironmace from releasing its game in other ways and working to improve the overall experience. Dark and Darker has continually received updates after its release in early access, enhancing the gameplay with hotfixes and balance changes.

Dark and Darker was first released on Steam, but it has been removed from the platform after Ironmace received a cease and desist from Nexon. The developers have bumped into a series of legal issues following Nexon’s allegations accusing Dark and Darkder of using stolen assets. At the time of writing, Dark and Darker is not available for download on Steam. Players must purchase this dungeon crawler game from its official website or a subscription-based storefront known as Chaf Games. It’s pretty unlikely that Dark and Darker will return to Steam anytime soon.

Dark and Darker has received two updates that include balance adjustments, bug fixes, and new content like attributes, perks, and spells. In addition to addressing some issues, the first update brought seven emotes, four artifacts, and new Royal Coffins to the dungeons. The Bard class has been reworked to make it more gear-oriented, new mining items have been added, and all weapon damage has been adjusted for a better combat experience. Also, a new set of perks and spells have been added to Warlocks, which could make them more powerful than other classes in Dark and Darker.

Dark and Darker Gets New Updates

This major update has modified Barbarian and Fighter’s faces and added new layouts to the Goblin Caves map pool. It brought some buffs to Dark and Darker‘s Rogue class, reducing its Hide, PenetratingShot and Cutthroat cooldown. The game has also received a hotfix update on September 28, which include only a few balance changes that improve the overall experience.

Dark and Darker is a first-person RPG with a traditional class system, allowing players to choose both melee and ranged characters. The game requires them to think strategically to survive in dungeons and catacombs filled with vicious creatures. It puts vital importance on versatility, encouraging players to build teams with different classes to unleash their full potential. Dark and Darker Early Access Hotfix #14 Patch Notes

  • Damage for all daggers has been slightly increased.
  • Lantern/Torch additional movement speed has been adjusted to 0.
  • Lanterns can now appear with random modifiers at the higher rarities.
  • Jack-O-Lantern has returned.
  • Regular merchants no longer sell Epic items.
  • The random modifier properties that appear on the colored rarity items have been reverted to give the much larger value range and larger variety including the +all attributes from before the previous patch. This means that checking the rolls for your items means just as much or more than just the color grade of the item.
  • Sub-bosses and Special Chests such as the Lion’s Head, Golden Chests, Marvelous, and Royal Coffins will always give colored grade loot now.
  • Soulreaper name changed to Soulscraper.
  • Rogue’s Trap Detection range has been increased from 400 → 450.
  • Rogue’s Jokester range has been increased from 350 → 450.
  • Rogue’s Ambush physical damage bonus changed from 30% → 50%.
  • Rogue’s Weak Point attack armor rating reduction has been changed from 25% → 30%, and the duration has been changed from 3s → 4s.
  • Ranger’s Chase range has been increased from 400 → 450.
  • Bard’s Warsong range has been increased from 350 → 450.
  • Bard’s Story Teller range has been increased from 350 → 450.
  • Fixed a rollback issue where players would revert to a previous state when exiting a dungeon.
  • Fixed Occultist Boots movement speed.
  • Fixed an issue where Curse of Pain’s instant damage would not occur when the Warlock uses Curse Mastery.
  • Fixed an issue where Power of Sacrifice could not deal damage when the Warlock uses Curse Mastery.

Dark and Darker Early Access Patch 1

  • Chests now also rolls for extra trinkets
  • Warlock Curse of Pain, Curse of Weakness, and Power of Sacrifice now cost 5 HP.
  • Warlock Torture Mastery now no longer heals from all magical damage when Curse of Pain is active on the target.
  • Warlock and Bard are now limited by Spell Memory.

  • Most armors have been updated and give additional bonuses in addition to just armor rating.

  • 4 new artifacts have been added: Echo of Screams, Soulreaper, Deathbloom, Stinky Stick.
  • Lockpick drop rate has been increased.
  • Greater Luck Potion has been added to the Fortune Teller.

  • Additional attack patterns added to the Nightmare version of the monsters in the Goblin Cave.

  • Fixed an issue in Trading Post where text that was too long would disappear instead of being printed to the next line.
  • Fixed an incorrectly installed portal.
  • Fixed an issue where Warlocks could not be granted Karma.
  • Fixed background objects with incorrect collision.
  • Fixed several issues that were causing crashes.
