- Fans are enjoying the comedic glitches in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, such as Miles turning into a floating white cube or Peter doing the “Naruto Run” through the streets.
- A funny clip shared on Reddit shows Miles being “fired” from his role as New York’s protector after getting knocked back into a homeless sign during a battle with a Symbiote.
- Miles is facing similar struggles as his mentor Peter in the story, trying to balance his responsibilities as Spider-Man while considering his future, but he won’t have to worry about finances since the game has sold over 5 million copies.
Striking a balance between crime-fighting and everyday life is a common struggle for any good superhero, but one hilarious Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 clip takes things one step further by having Miles Morales become “unemployed” after a particularly difficult battle. Both Miles and his mentor Peter Parker return as fully playable characters in Spider-Man 2, which finally launched to rave reviews on the PlayStation 5 last month. Fans have praised Spider-Man 2 for its darker, more emotional storyline and refined gameplay, which lets players explore an expanded open-world version of New York City with a higher level of speed and adrenaline than Insomniac’s previous two Marvel titles.
Like most open-world games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 grants players the freedom to tackle the game’s many activites at their own pace, and this has naturally led to fans sharing their funny experiences online. Many of these wild antics happen entirely by accident, with players reporting glitches that cause Miles to transform into a floating white cube while swinging above the streets of Brooklyn, Peter to perform the infamous “Naruto Run” through the streets of Queens, or even for the briefly-playable Venom to roam Manhattan – at least until a recent update patch removed this to a mixed response from fans.

Yet another funny Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 clip was recently shared by Reddit user Ssp021 on r/SpidermanPS4 that seemingly depicts Miles Morales being “fired” from his role as New York’s protector. The young Spider-Man is shown battling a hulking Symbiote brute during a routine encounter in the streets of Manhattan, only to be knocked back toward a homeless sign nearby. This has led to jokes about poor Miles being hit so hard that he either lost his job or retired, with some even going as far as to say that Adidas pulled the sponsorship that inspired his now-infamous Evolved Suit.
Other Spider-Man 2 fans have joked that Miles is simply following in his teacher Peter’s footsteps, as the older Spidey’s struggles with holding a steady job are a constant source of drama and comedy throughout Insomniac’s Marvel games. Meanwhile, Miles faces his own questions about his future in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and similarly has to balance the pressure of getting into college while stepping into his own as the main Spider-Man of the Insomniac universe going forward.
It looks like Miles is off to a rough start as the primary Insomniac Spider-Man, at least according to Ssp021’s recent clip that shows him literally getting knocked into unemployment after a tough battle with a Symbiote. At least the young web-slinger won’t have to worry about finances while looking for a new job, as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has already sold over 5 million copies worldwide in its first month.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
The sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man and its Miles Morales spin-off, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a PS5 console exclusive. Insomniac’s open-world game features Peter Parker and Miles Morales as dual protagonists, with the two heroes going up against the likes of Kraven, Venom, and Lizard.
