Minecraft Image Shows All the Mobs That Lost Past Mob Votes

Highlights

A Minecraft fan has created an image that compiles all the mobs that have lost previous mob votes. MinecraftLive 2023 includes a mob vote where Minecraft players will decide between the armadillo, crab, and penguin, with the losing creatures likely disappearing for the foreseeable future.

With the latest Minecraft mob vote set to commence on October 13, players are expressing their enthusiasm for the options. While mostplayers are voicing the pros and cons of each option to gauge whether one deserves a vote more than the other two, some fans have gone above and beyond. One player has even dedicated a massive Minecraft Survival mode base to the crab mob that’s part of the vote. Though so many Minecraft players are anticipating what’s to come, one fan took the opportunity to remind the community which mobs have lost in the past.

Reddit user Oceans24mission recently shared three Minecraft images showing what failed to reach enough votes to be added to the game. One picture shows the lost Minecraft mobs including the Copper Golem, Glare, Iceloger, Moobloom, Meerkat, Ostrich, Rascal, Tuff Golem, and Vulture. A second image shows mobs that lost the biome-specific vote, while the third one pairs the two. The unnamed mobs that lost Minecraft‘s biome vote are the deep ocean monster, Great Hunger, and Hovering Inferno. These mobs lost their respective vote to the Phantom. In total, there are 12 lost mobs that Oceans24mission’s image includes, but there’s one notable exception.

Termites are unlisted but could have been added to the Minecraft Savanna. Termites were expected to eat wood and drop sawdust. Although thecommunity voted against these mobs, each would have served a unique purpose. The Iceloger would’ve summoned ice clouds to slow players down, while the Rascal would play hide-and-seek and reward players upon being found three times. The Iceloger ultimately lost to the Minecraft Glow Squid in 2020, and the Rascal didn’t receive as many votes as the Sniffer in 2022. Among the mobs that have entered the game after getting community votes are the Allay, Phantom, Llama, Polar Bear, and Magma Cube.

While the Minecraft mobs shown in Oceans24mission’s images didn’t make it into the game, it’s possible that they’ll be added in the distant future. Although the armadillo, crab, and penguin all have prospective voters singing their praises ahead of MinecraftLive, it’s unclear if any stand out as an obvious favorite.

Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
