Developer GameMill Entertainment has announced that Princess Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender will be part of the playable roster in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. Azula, one of Avatar‘s most iconic villains, is joining a sprawling cast of beloved Nickelodeon characters set to appear in the upcoming fighting game.

Officially announced in July, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a sequel to the popular 2021 title of the same name, which promises to improve and expand upon the well-received gameplay elements of its predecessor. Both All-Star Brawl games take inspiration from Nintendo’s genre-defining Super Smash Bros series in terms of their style and gameplay structure, populating their playable rosters with beloved cartoon characters from Nickelodeon’s vast library of shows.

Today, GameMill released a short announcement trailer revealing another new addition to the All-Star Brawl 2 roster: Princess Azula, one of the main antagonists featured in Avatar: The Last Airbender. The trailer mainly consists of gameplay footage showing off the character’s aggressive fighting style, with moves heavily featuring Azula’s iconic blue firebending as well as her rare ability to channel bolts of lightning. The footage is overlaid with a series of voiceover lines, quoting or paraphrasing some of Azula’s most memorable quotes from the show.

The trailer also incidentally highlights some of the bizarre character match-ups that will be possible in All-Star Brawl 2, showing footage of Azula unleashing blasts of fire against, among others, cartoon animals Ren and Stimpy. The expansive roster of Nickelodeon characters in the game includes a range of colorful personalities, from relatively grounded characters like Azula to much more silly cartoon protagonists like the mischievous stars of The Angry Beavers. The prospect of seeing such vastly different characters battling each other is one of the game’s amusing selling points.

The addition of Azula to All-Star Brawl 2 will no doubt be exciting for Avatar fans, and the gravitas of her character will provide an interesting contrast to some of the sillier personalities on the game’s roster. Expanding the cast of playable characters is just one of the ways Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 seeks to improve on its predecessor, alongside increased single player options, full voice acting, and graphical upgrades, among other innovations. Given these promised improvements, fan expectations for All-Star Brawl 2 will surely be high when the game releases next month.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2is set to release on November 3 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
