  • The season will bring hero balance changes and a brand-new Control map, possibly hinting at the addition of the rumored new Tank hero Mauga in Season 8.

Blizzard has released a new teaser for Overwatch 2 Season 7: Rise of Darkness, which will launch on October 10 with a new Lilith Moira skin. Overwatch 2 Season 6 was the biggest season for the hero shooter to date. It saw the introduction of the first PvE story missions as part of the Invasion update, debuted the Flashpoint game mode with two maps, and brought brand-new Support hero Illari into the mix.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 is wrapping up, and so fans are looking to what’s in store with Overwatch 2 Season 7. Blizzard has been teasing fans about what to expect from Overwatch 2 Season 7, mainly hinting at the kinds of hero balance changes fans can expect when the new season kicks off. Now Blizzard has released a short teaser video that gives fans an idea of what else the new season will deliver.

As seen in the Overwatch 2 Season 7 trailer, fans of the hero shooter can expect the new content to drop on October 10. The new season will include a Halloween-themed twist on the Blizzard World map, plus a Lilith skin for Moira, based on the character’s appearance in Diablo 4. The trailer suggests that a PvE activity will be tied to the Halloween Blizzard World map and Lilith Moira skin, which would match up with previous leaks, though that isn’t actually confirmed at the time of this writing.

When is Overwatch 2 Season 7?

  • Tuesday, October 10

What’s also not confirmed just yet is exactly when this twist on the Blizzard World map will be introduced and when fans can expect Lilith Moira to go on sale. It’s possible this will all be available as soon as Season 7 starts on October 10, but there’s also a chance Blizzard will wait to add this until a little later in the month, to coincide with the annual Halloween Terror event. Specifics on that end should come to light sooner rather than later, what with Season 7 set to start on October 10.

Besides Halloween content and the Lilith Moira skin, Overwatch 2 players can also expect a brand-new Control map in Season 7. Overwatch 2 is adding a Samoa map to the mix with the Season 7 update, with its inclusion possibly a tease that long-rumored new Tank hero Mauga could be joining the roster at some point in the relatively near future.

Overwatch 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
