In the latest example of players taking their love for Bethesda Game Studio’s The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim from the digital world to the real one, one fan shows off their incredible landscape painting inspired by the game. This gorgeous piece of fan art shows how, even when faced with competition from its new sci-fi RPG Starfield, Bethesda’s Skyrim continues to capture the hearts and minds of gamers over a decade on from its initial release.

In the nearly 12 years since players worldwide first got their hands on Skyrim, the sprawling, open-world setting of Tamriel’s northern province has proved to be a source of artistic inspiration for countless gamers. From ornate wooden enchantment tables to a version of the Skyrim logo made out of metal, talented players have brought the world of Tamriel into the real one in all sorts of inventive ways. One of the most consistently popular forms of paying tribute to the game over the years has been through paintings and other illustrations, with artistically inclined gamers producing some truly stunning Skyrim-inspired works of art.

Showing off one of their own artistic creations inspired by the hit game, Redditor LongFineArt recently shared a picture of their stunning Skyrim landscape painting. Posted to r/Skyrim, the impressively detailed painting shows a valley ringed by lush forests on either side with the imposing mountains of Tamriel stretching skyward in the background. Tying the whole thing together and paying homage to the game’s fiercest foes, one of Skyrim’s dragons is seen soaring in the distance. No stranger to Skyrim fan art, LongFineArt previously shared an impressive oil painting of Whiterun that was well-received by fans of the game.

Redditors responding to the post were impressed by the detailed painting, with one reply referencing the game’s Dragonborn protagonist by calling LongFineArt the “Dovahkiin version of Bob Ross.” Having already shared numerous pieces of Skyrim fan art both on Reddit and elsewhere online over the years, several responses stated they were glad to see LongFineArt still creating pieces inspired by the hit game after so long. Unable to pass up an opportunity to reference one of Skyrim’s most infamous lines of dialogue, one Redditor joked that they used to be an artist before taking an arrow to the knee.

This impressive piece of Skyrim fan art is a great example of how Bethesda’s acclaimed open-world RPG continues to inspire fans worldwide. And unlike the stunning MS Paint picture of Whiterun recently created by another fan of the game, this luscious landscape is ready to hang on the wall with no need for a printer.
