Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 boasts the inclusion of many X-Men premiering in the MCU. Now, a fan artist has imagined what it would be like if Taylor Swift joined the team.
The singer-songwriter has made her name in music, but Swift is no stranger to acting. In addition to appearing in Tom Hooper’s cursed Cats film, she has also had roles in Amsterdam and The Giver. Now that Hugh Jackman is officially reprising his role as Wolverine in a comic-accurate suit, it is anyone’s guess what X-Men could appear, and fans’ imaginations are running wild.

In an Instagram post shared by @bosslogic, one artist imagined Swift as X-Men character Dazzler. Featured briefly in X-Men: The Animated Series, the mutant is a pop star who can transform sound into light. A perfect ability for any performer, Swift would be a welcome addition to the cast in this role.
Fan images like these have kicked the rumor mill into high gear. It is no secret that Swift is friendly with Reynolds, being pictured with the Deadpool actor and his wife, Blake Lively, at sporting events and the like. If Dazzler is included in Deadpool 3, securing the singer for the role would seemingly be easy.
Including her in the imminent franchise film would be a meta-inclusion that fits right into the tone of Deadpool, but it could also cement Swift as a Hollywood actor. Her previous attempts at segueing into acting have not had the best outcome. Through no fault of her own, it seems the Shake It Off singer only had a bad habit of picking projects doomed to fail. The uncanny valley aspect of the musical Cats even turned off Andrew Lloyd Webber. Despite David O. Russell’s impressive filmography, Amsterdam flopped spectacularly at the box office, and The Giver was no better. Getting cast in a big Marvel Studios movie would save her acting career if that is something that she chooses to pursue.
But of course, this is just a rumor. There has been no confirmation that Dazzler will appear in Deadpool 3. Most confirmed cameos are from Marvel veterans who have yet to jump to the MCU. Many original X-Men cast members are rumored to appear in Deadpool 3, and there may not be room for cameos of characters who have yet to have a significant role in live-action. If it ever happens, however, Swift would be the obvious choice to play the mutant.
Deadpool 3 will premiere in theaters on May 3, 2024.
