Wild Mortal Kombat 1 Mod Gives Fatalities First-Person Perspective

Highlights

  • A new mod called MK1Hook gives a first-person perspective to Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1, allowing players to see the pain inflicted on opponents up close.
  • The mod also allows for first-person battles, as seen in the video showcasing Scorpion, Johnny Cage, and Shang Tsung using the mod.

A Mortal Kombat 1 player has created a mod that gives a first-person perspective to Fatalities. Like every other Mortal Kombat game before it, Fatalities are featured prominently Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1 gives each fighter two unique Fatalities, with some standing out more than others. One example is Liu Kang’s second Fatality, where the god of fire transports his opponent into space and eliminates them using a black hole. While Mortal Kombat 1 lacks finishers such as Animalities, Babalities, Friendships, and Stage Fatalities, the game does feature Kameo Fighters. The Kameo Fighters also have their own Fatalities that Mortal Kombat 1 players can use during matches.

YouTube user ermaccer has published a video showing how a mod they created gives a first-person perspective to Mortal Kombat 1‘s Fatalities. Named MK1Hook, the mod allows the player to see through the eyes of the fighter, and get a close-up view of all the pain caused to the opponent. The video shows Shang Tsung’s Fatalities, where the iconic Mortal Kombat villain uses a strange glowing liquid to decimate his opponents. The video also shows the first perspective of Johnny Cage’s Fatalities.

The mod made by ermaccer allows Mortal Kombat fans to play around with various aspects of Mortal Kombat 1, including the game’s camera. As well as putting the Fatalities in first person, the mod does the same with the battles. In the video, the player shows Scorpion, Johnny Cage, and Shang Tsung delivering their blows in first person while they test the mod. The player’s only note on how the mod works is with Mortal Kombat 1‘s Kameo Fighter throws. As they are tracking the player, when Kameo Fighters throw, the camera resets for a second.
